CD Projekt Red has confirmed that it has no plans to release a PlayStation 5 Pro update for Cyberpunk 2077. Despite other popular PS5 titles receiving enhancements for the new console, fans of the action RPG should not expect any new features or improvements for the game on the PlayStation 5 Pro.

Since its initial release in December 2020, Cyberpunk 2077 faced significant criticism due to numerous glitches and bugs, particularly on console versions. However, after multiple patches and updates, the game has been greatly improved and has evolved into a success story for CD Projekt Red. While many fans continue to explore Night City as they await news about a potential sequel, the studio has now confirmed that no dedicated PlayStation 5 Pro patch is in the works.

Although the PlayStation 5 Pro's enhanced specs may offer some general improvements to Cyberpunk 2077, such as better frame rates or ray tracing, there will be no new graphical modes or updates specifically designed for the console. The announcement comes after an increasing number of fans expressed their hopes for enhanced visuals or performance upgrades following the PS5 Pro's release.

In May 2024, CD Projekt Red revealed that development for Cyberpunk 2077 had officially ended, with no further updates planned for the game. The studio has since shifted focus to The Witcher 4, the first entry in a new saga of the fantasy RPG series, and Cyberpunk 2077's sequel, codenamed "Project Orion," though details about the sequel remain scarce.

While Cyberpunk 2077 won't benefit from a PS5 Pro update, many other highly anticipated PS5 titles, such as Baldur's Gate 3 and Lies of P, are receiving significant enhancements for the new hardware. The PlayStation 5 Pro, which launched on November 7, boasts an upgraded GPU, advanced ray tracing, and AI-driven upscaling, promising a smoother and visually enhanced gaming experience. Over 50 games are already confirmed to be PS5 Pro Enhanced, with many others benefiting from improved performance thanks to the console’s Game Boost feature.
