Survival action RPG Enshrouded has recently surpassed a peak of 42,000 concurrent players on Steam, marking the highest-ever number recorded since its early access debut. Developed by Keen Games, Enshrouded became the studio’s first self-published title when it launched on Steam on January 24, 2024.

The game garnered significant attention during its early access release earlier this year, hitting an impressive peak of over 160,000 concurrent players and selling over a million copies within just four days. However, the initial surge was followed by a notable drop, with player counts falling as low as 6,000 by late October. Thankfully, recent updates have sparked a positive change for Enshrouded, as indicated by a recent announcement from Keen Games on Twitter.

On November 17, the game hit 42,477 concurrent players, marking its highest count since its early access launch, according to SteamDB stats. Many fans expressed their satisfaction with the milestone, crediting the studio’s consistent updates for improving the gaming experience. While the 42,000 mark still falls short of its all-time peak of 160,405 players, this is the first time the game has crossed the 40,000 threshold since March. The surge follows the release of the Souls of the Frozen Frontier update on November 5, which introduced new content, including the Albaneve Summits region, dynamic weather, new Townsfolk, and farm animals.
