The Pokemon TCG set Journey Together has been revealed, with a Western release date set for March 28, 2025. Part of the ongoing Scarlet and Violet cycle, the set promises new cards and the potential return of a classic gimmick familiar to fans of the trading card game.

The Scarlet and Violet cycle began last year, welcoming Gen 9 to the Pokemon TCG. The first set in this era, Scarlet and Violet, debuted in March 2024 with 256 new cards. Since then, the cycle has expanded to include seven additional main sets and three special sets. Notable releases include 151, which focused on Kanto’s iconic Pokemon, Paldean Fates, introducing the first Gen 9 shiny cards, and Shrouded Fable, featuring Pecharunt’s trading card debut.

According to PokeBeach, Journey Together will launch with a pre-release event running from March 15 to 23, 2025. While the exact number of cards is unknown, it will be the ninth main Gen 9 set, following the recently released Surging Sparks, which introduced 252 new cards, including Stellar Tera Pokemon ex. The English set is based on the Japanese Battle Partners set, scheduled to arrive in Japan on January 24, 2025. Battle Partners will reintroduce Pokemon Owners, a beloved card type showcasing Pokemon associated with well-known trainers.

The Japanese release will also feature Iono-themed card sleeves and deck boxes, alongside “Collection Files” containing N’s Zoroark ex and Lillie’s Clefairy ex. Pre-built decks starring Steven and Marie will also be available. Fans speculate that Journey Together might include N’s Reshiram cards, Lillie, Marie’s Grimmsnarl ex, and other trainer-linked cards such as Arven’s Mabosstiff, Misty’s Psyduck, and Ethan’s Pichu, though official confirmation is pending.

While more details about Journey Together are yet to emerge, the Pokemon TCG release schedule remains packed. Recently, the Japanese set Terastal Festival ex, featuring stunning card illustrations, launched on December 6. Its Western counterpart, Prismatic Evolution, will arrive on January 17, 2025, and will showcase Terastallized Eevee and its evolutions. Fans can look forward to Journey Together adding to this exciting era of the Pokemon TCG.
