As the Founder and CEO of Arc Management Consulting, I specialise in pioneering data-driven marketing strategies that drive remarkable growth and market share expansion. Abby Ghafoor replied, “My journey to where I am today has been a fulfilling one. I started as a Marketing Consultant with industry giants like BT, Yell, and Hibu, which provided me with valuable experience and expertise. Over the years, I honed my skills and developed a deep passion for empowering marketing teams and fostering business growth. I found that marketing teams in the corporate world “all swam in the same pool,” and to achieve the best results, any marketing team needs to think outside the box. This was a time when Google was taking over print media, and digital was growing rapidly. I found that businesses were too slow as they were just learning about online, websites, and email marketing. Out of this frustration, I founded Arc Management Consulting, where I continue to make a positive impact in the marketing industry and beyond. I invested time in building my networks and truly believe that this has been key in ensuring we have great business relationships with the wider community. Trust is everything.”

The UK Times: Why did you start ARC MANAGEMENT CONSULTING?

Abby Ghafoor replied, “I founded Arc Management Consulting with the goal of revolutionising marketing strategies and enabling marketing teams within organisations to collaborate more effectively. I identified the need for a consultancy that could deliver innovative, data-driven marketing solutions that integrated both sales and marketing teams, fostering a more cohesive approach. As an Asian female leader, my motivation extended beyond driving business growth; it also encompassed shaping future leaders and promoting social responsibility. This venture was born from a desire to combine expertise and inspire others to create a meaningful impact.”

Abby Ghafoor replied, “One of the biggest challenges I’ve faced in my leadership journey is the ever-evolving landscape of marketing and ensuring that we had the right team members in the right roles. This was a huge test over Covid-19 when we had no choice but to collaborate in new ways of working with our clients. I believe that staff, when focused on their strengths, deliver amazing results. Staying ahead of trends and adapting to new technologies and consumer behaviours requires continuous learning and focus. Additionally, building a consultancy from the ground up and establishing a reputation in a competitive market presented its own set of challenges. However, these challenges have also been opportunities for growth and have strengthened our commitment to delivering excellence.”

Abby Ghafoor replied, “The key values that have helped me overcome challenges in my path include perseverance, adaptability, and a relentless pursuit of excellence. One memorable incident in my leadership journey was when we were faced with a significant client crisis. Our team worked tirelessly to analyse the situation, adapt our strategies, and not only resolve the crisis but also strengthen our client relationship. This incident showcased our commitment to excellence and our ability to handle adversity with resilience with limited disruption to our client’s business.”
