Blizzard has officially revealed World of Warcraft Patch 11.1, titled Undermined, which will take players deep into the Goblin capital city of Undermine. The update, set for release in early 2025, marks the first major content expansion for World of Warcraft: The War Within, adding a new dungeon, delves, raid, and a dynamic, customizable ground mount to the game.

During Blizzard’s inaugural Warcraft Direct, the studio unveiled plenty of new details about upcoming titles in the franchise, including Mists of Pandaria Classic and a tease for player housing in Midnight. However, the standout announcement for WoW fans was the reveal of Undermined, a patch that will introduce an immersive new setting and several exciting features.

In Patch 11.1, players will explore the sprawling subterranean city of Undermine, where they will face off against a range of new challenges. This includes two new delves, one new dungeon, and the eight-boss Liberation of Undermine raid, culminating in a battle against Gallywix, the Goblin leader, in his extravagant palace.

A key addition in this update is the introduction of D.R.I.V.E., World of Warcraft's first dynamic ground mount. This fully customizable hot rod can be adjusted in terms of speed, grip, acceleration, and more, offering players a unique mode of transport in Undermine. While the mount will initially be limited to this new zone, its success could pave the way for its use in other areas of the game, much like the expansion of Dragonriding.

The patch will also continue the ongoing story of The War Within, delving deeper into Goblin culture. Players will be able to align with one of the four major Goblin cartels—Bilgewater, Blackwater, Steemwheedle, or Venture Company—further immersing themselves in the underworld politics of Undermine.

Before Undermined launches in 2025, Patch 11.0.7 titled The Siren Isle will release on December 17, 2024. This smaller content update will act as a bridge between The War Within and Undermined, bringing the enigmatic characters Haranir and Orweyna back into the spotlight as part of the ongoing Worldsoul Saga.
