Alien: Rogue Incursion stands as one of the best-looking entries in the Alien franchise in years, but it comes with a major caveat: it's designed exclusively for VR. Creative Assembly set the bar high for systemic AI and sustained tension with Alien: Isolation, a title that remains an oft-overlooked masterpiece. While the announcement of a sequel is a welcome development, there's a lingering sense that Alien: Rogue Incursion should have at least offered players the option to experience it in a more traditional format.

Undoubtedly, the game is built around total immersion, and VR’s core attributes align well with that experience. From one perspective, it's understandable that the developers are doubling down on the format. However, titles like Resident Evil 7 have shown that it’s possible to offer both a traditional console experience and an optional VR mode without sacrificing either.
